It’s springtime! And so, it’s also the time when all the channels release their most awaited shows. These shows have the best drama, amazing star cast or those famous creators. We wait for them with our bated breaths and make sure that we follow every single episode every week. The discussions and fandoms and critical analyzation of the star cast and episode plot comes next. These shows have become the most interesting topics to be discussed. Let’s do a rundown of all the shows that we’re waiting for. This list contains new shows on online channels as well as new seasons of previously run shows on primetime television. This list is based purely on the shows which have huge fan following or new shows which have created a lot of hype around them.
10. Battle Creek (CBS)
This show premiered on CBS on March 1. The show has already garnered so much interest owing to the impeccable star cast of Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters. It also boasts of David Shore of the House M.D fame and Vince Gilligan of the Breaking Bad as creators. Why wouldn’t it be good? The plot revolves around two detectives with different views on the world team up and using cynicism, guile and deception, they clean up the streets of Battle Creek.
9. Last man on Earth (FOX)
As you can already guess, this story is the USP! Last man on earth is a new single-camera comedy about the life and adventures of the last man on earth. Will Forte plays a guy who was once just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job at the bank – now he’s humanity’s last hope. Will he ever find another person alive on the planet? Would hoping that she is a female be asking too much? It started airing on FOX from 15th March and we sure hope that this show will be quite the adventure!
8. New Girl (FOX)
I don’t think you need an introduction to this one! If you do, then you’ve been living under a rock for the last 4 years. The popular sitcom released their 4th season towards the end of last year and it’s been going on right now. The season is expected to end in May 2015. The adorable jess is back with the guys to make some new changes in her life, once again! This season boasts of some pretty hilarious episodes and several new twists. For all the people who keep hoping that jess and nick will get back, they are broken for good!
7. Man seeking Woman (FXX)
This is one show that I’m waiting for! The title itself makes it pretty clear. This Sitcom aired on FXX on January this year. Man Seeking Woman is about a naïve and soft-spoken man in his 20s named Josh Greenberg, who finds himself in several surreal and awkward circumstances while trying to find love. The show has already been renewed for a second season. I guess then that this show is garnering some good response among the people. Well, it’s been adapted from a book, and we’ve always seen the adapted works create history. So, fingers crossed?
6. The Good Wife (CBS)
This drama made history with the fandom it created when it was first aired in 2009. Currently airing its 6th season on CBS, the season is going as strong as ever. Alicia Florrick became a household name and her story blossomed with the show. We saw her changing from the sweet wife to the kickass lawyer you don’t want to cross. Julianna Margulies continues to awe us with her performance. The entire cast of this show is a force to be reckoned with.
5. How to get away with murder (ABC)
This show made waves with its twisting plot and a very colourful cast. The producer is Shonda Rhimes, and who doesn’t know her (Grey’s Anatomy, anyone?). The plot runs with a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defence professor who become involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their lives. Viola Davis play the part of the perfect defence attorney and a professor to the t. the show is airing its first season on ABC, but we hear that it’s already started working on its second season. Yayy!
4. Agent Carter (ABC)
All the superhero fans can rejoice now! After the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, we have Agent Carter taking the ranks. An American television series created for ABC by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, inspired by the films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the Marvel One-Shot short film of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The series was officially ordered on May 8, 2014, and the first season aired from January 6 to February 24, 2015, during the season two mid-season break of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
3. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is an American comedy series created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and starring Ellie Kemper that has streamed on Netflix since March 6, 2015. Originally set for a 13-episode first season on NBC for spring 2015, the show was sold to Netflix and given a two-season order. The series follows 29-year old Kimmy Schmidt as she adjusts to life in New York City after her rescue from an Indiana doomsday cult. The pilot opens with her rescue from the cult’s underground bunker, where Kimmy and three other women were held with the Reverend for fifteen years. I’m already excited!
2. Modern Family
Well, I certainly think this can be counted in my Top 10. I’ve personally been a follower of this sitcom right from its inception in 2009. With such an amazing cast, who would not get hooked on this show? The families keep you on your toes, as ever. I can say that all the awards are well deserved! I don’t know who to praise and who not to. The story revolves around Jay Prichett and his family, which includes his second wife and 2 sons, as well as his two adult children and their families. All the characters work in perfect harmony. The show was renewed for its sixth season in September 2014. It’s airing on ABC. We can already expect that this show will go a long way, can’t we?
1. The Big Bang Theory
The best for the last! This sitcom can simply be considered the best show being aired right now! In its eighth season at the moment, big bang theory continues to make us fall in love with it. The infallible Sheldon and gang, penny and girls have become our everyday routine. I can’t even think of a time when they weren’t here. And it’s a good thing that the show is already received an extension of three years. We don’t have to say goodbye to the gang yet!
